What if I told you that members from Obama's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) are currently meeting with Doctors from around the country, behind closed doors right now and discussing that when Obamacare kicks in, there will be panels that will decide how much money will be spent on you and what care you may or may not receive, if you should have a stroke or aneurysm or any debilitating accident or ailment, and if you are a certain age, (say 70), they will determine if you are worth the cost of rehabilitation or if it would be more cost affective by putting you in a bed with a feeding tube and calling it "Comfort Care" until you die. And what if I told you that if you were one of these people, you would not be referred to as a patient, you would be called a "Unit"? I would guess you might be slightly concerned, right?

Great seed Goes, but why not just institute assisted suicide for those that do not want to be rehabilitated or stuck lying in a bed for life after a stroke or accident.
As severely burned and injured as I am, I do not like all the surgeries I have to go through over and over cutting out scar-bands and going through grafting all over again.
Personally, if it were up to me, I would have rather died than to have lived the life I am trapped in.
I think it's wring to keep someone alive knowing that afterwards their life is going to be hell for the remainder. I don't believe in suicide, but i have asked my doctor about legal euthanasia, but he said it wasn't legal in Iowa yet, but when that day comes, I will be in that line waiting to be legally euthanized and have my organs harvested and given to someone that can use them.
I think it should be up to the individual on whether or not they want to live or die under certain circumstances. Doctors told me that all was going to be ok for me (a lie), and used me as a kid when i was terrible burned on almost 705 of my body. They used me, my story to raise funds for themselves, the church did the same.
Sometimes we as humans need to do the right thing and think about the future of a family member after a terrible accident. Don't be so selfish and then complain about the time and cost it takes to keep one alive afterwards.
I am 100% for euthanasia, I don't think doctors or government should make that decision for the people, I believe it should be the individuals choice on whether or not they want to live knowing that they will be a vegetable in a bed for life dependent on someone for everything.

Arieus, thank you very much for stopping by and posting.
I am so sorry to read about what happened to you, I myself was born with a visual impairment, and I can understand better than most, what are you talking about, and how you feel.
I completely agree with you, that in some cases, dying is more comfortable for the patient and people surrounding him, but the decision of whether to continue trying or giving up, should only remain in ones hands, or a close relative, if the person cannot make this decision himself, and not be decided for them by some government officials.
In the case of a government officer making this decision for someone, wouldn't that be considered a crime?! Neither an individual nor a government has the right to end someone's life.

Thumbs-up Goes. I agree with you 100%.

The initial reports were correct. There are death panels but they have a politically correct title.
I can't wait to be a unit.

I am sick and tired of being lied to by our politicians, who are supposed to work for us, not against us.

These panels are especially for Seniors on Medicare. You see, we just have to many old people in this country that are a drain on our society. Obamacare is going to see that these people become less of a drain on our society by deciding who gets medical treatment and who doesn't. Youth in Asia, with a nice sounding name.

This is the change he was promising us in his presidential campaign.

"The Panel"
Four or five accountants that look at the bottom line of the numbers and have someone to sign a letter that the treatment hasn't quality.
I have faith in those Doctors that follow the Hippocrates Oath.
We all know that if we pay more for our health insurance is because there are some that can't afford or don't want to pay for one.

True, if someone cannot pay, it is our duty as fellow citizens to help him out, but if someone doesn't want to pay, I have serious issues with him.
Also it makes a great difference if this person is legally staying in the US or not.

Well, do you people remember this was called "death panels", yet we were told that was not true. After reading this, what is your decision? Being one of those that would be put to bed with a tube down my throat to keep me breathing, UNTIL I DIE, I think someone should tell the president, there is NO, NO WAY YOU will do this to our citizens. Is it possible that ONE of our people IN CONGRESS has the GUTS to tell him "YOU CANNOT DO THIS TO OUR PEOPLE" If not please, do not run again for the Congress of the United States Congress EVER AGAIN because you would LOSE. It would be a complete waste of your time.

No one will do this for us, every politician is benefiting from his position no matter what. We are the ones suffering, and we are the ones who need to take control using our votes as a start.
