The first sura of the Qur’an which is named “Al Fatha” the opening, is as following.

In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Praise be to God, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds;
Most Gracious, Most Merciful;
Master of the Day of Judgment.
Thee do we worship and Thine aid we seek.
Show us the straight way,
The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose is not wrath, and who go not astray.

Abdallah Yussif Ali’s translation

Now, let’s see the explanation of the last verse 7 as interpreted by the greatest Islam interpreters.

Tfsier Al Jalaleyn, the most respective tafsier.

the path of those whom You have favoured, with guidance (from alladhīna together with its relative clause is substituted by [ghayri l-maghdūbi ‘alayhim]) not [the path] of those against whom there is wrath, namely, the Jews, and nor of those who are astray, namely, the Christians. The subtle meaning implied by this substitution is that the guided ones are neither the Jews nor the Christians. But God knows best what is right, and to Him is the Return and the [final] Resort. May God bless our lord Muhammad (s), his Family and Companions and grant them everlasting peace. Sufficient is God for us; an excellent Guardian is He. There is no power and no strength save in God, the High, the Tremendous.

Ibn Abbas

(The path of those whom Thou hast favoured), the Religion of those whom You have blessed with the Religion and who are the followers of Moses, before the blessings of Allah deserted them, in that He shaded them with a white cloud and sent down on them honey and quails when they were in the wilderness. It is also said that (the path of those whom Thou hast favoured) refers to the prophets. (Not of those who earn Thine anger), not the religion of the Jews who earned Your anger, whom You forsook and whose hearts You did not protect until they became complaisant. (Nor of those who go astray), nor the religion of the Christians who erred from Islam. Amen: thus shall be its custodians; it is also said that Amen means let it be so. It is also said that it means: O our Lord! Do with us as we have requested You. And Allah knows best'.

From the two above mentioned tafsier, we see that Islam is looking to both Jews, and Christians, as infidels, either by being those whose is not wrath, Jews, and who go not astray Christians. As per this verse, Jews, and Christians are not following God, and his prophet, therefore we see the following verse.

9 “Al Tawba”

29 Fight those who believe not in God nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by God and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizyah with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Same translation Abdallah Yussif Ali

Al Jalalayn

Fight those who do not believe in God, nor in the Last Day, for, otherwise, they would have believed in the Prophet (s), and who do not forbid what God and His Messenger have forbidden, such as wine, nor do they practise the religion of truth, the firm one, the one that abrogated other religions, namely, the religion of Islam — from among of those who (min, ‘from’, explains [the previous] alladhīna, ‘those who’) have been given the Scripture, namely, the Jews and the Christians, until they pay the jizya tribute, the annual tax imposed them, readily (‘an yadin is a circumstantial qualifier, meaning, ‘compliantly’, or ‘by their own hands’, not delegating it [to others to pay]), being subdued, [being made] submissive and compliant to the authority of Islam.

Ibn Abbas

(Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture) the Jews and Christians (as believe not in Allah nor the Last Day) nor in the bliss of Paradise, (and forbid not) in the Torah (that which Allah hath forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the religion of truth) do not submit themselves to Allah through confession of Allah's divine Oneness, (until they pay the tribute readily) standing: from hand to hand, (being brought low) abased.

Relating the above two suras, and the verses, we conclude the following:

All non Muslims are infidels including Jews, and Christians, as long as, they don’t accept Islam.
The rest of the people are also infidels, the only believers in the world are Muslims.
Muslims are ordered to fight all infidels, even Christians, and Jews, until they become Muslims, or pay the Islamic taxes to be able to live peacefully in Muslim States.

After the above, do you really think, or still believe that Islam tolerates any other religion other than Islam?!

The radical Muslims vs the "moderate" Muslims?

The radicals tend to have read the Koran and understand the creed and the moderates tend to have read parts of the Koran and ignore the untenable sections.

There are many religious names for Kafirs: polytheists, idolaters, People of the Book (Christians and Jews), Buddhists, atheists, agnostics, and pagans. Kafir covers them all, because no matter what the religious name is, they can all be treated the same. What Mohammed said and did to polytheists can be done to any other category of Kafir.

Islam devotes a great amount of energy to the Kafir. The majority (64%) of the Koran is devoted to the Kafir, and nearly all of the Sira (81%) deals with Mohammed's struggle with them. The Hadith (Traditions) devotes 32% of the text to Kafirs1. Overall, the Trilogy devotes 60% of its content to the Kafir.

Hadith

Sira
81%

Koran

Total
60%

Amount of Text Devoted to the Kafir

The Sharia does not devote nearly that much to the Kafir since Sharia law is primarily for Muslims. Besides, the Kafir has few rights, so there is little to expound on.

If only all the Islamaphobes would sell all their possessions, buy a sword and one-way ticket to the mideast, and then storm the beaches of those countries. Win/Win for the planet.

Or....we get out of the middle east all together and let them have at each other like they always have, and that would be a

Win/Win for the planet.

#1.4 - I agree that all religious extremists should "have at each other", but only where they can't endanger anyone else or the rest of the planet. I'm also suggesting that US christian religious extremists be proportionately represented in any "my god is better than your god" melee. Start with the TV hucksters and any clergy that preach politics from the pulpit. Shedding the world of a few thousand religious nutjobs of whatever flavor couldn't hurt the rest of us. I'll go buy some yellow ribbon..........

If only all the Islamaphobes would....

There is no such thing as Islamophobia. Bigotry and racism exist, of course—and they are evils that all well-intentioned people must oppose. And prejudice against Muslims or Arabs, purely because of the accident of their birth, is despicable. But like all religions, Islam is a system of ideas and practices. And it is not a form of bigotry or racism to observe that the specific tenets of the faith pose a special threat to civil society. Nor is it a sign of intolerance to notice when people are simply not being honest about what they and their co-religionists believe. Sam Harris, The Daily Beast

Let`s see, when the wahabes stormed North Africa, spreading the faith. Convert or die. The serbians were slaughtered in Bosnia, in what I believe in the 13th century. Little by little, the rest of the human populace are beginning to see through the bull@!$%# of conquest sponsored by the followers of Mohammed. Personally, I think religion caused ninety percent of all the wars in the world.

    From sahih Muslim

    Book 001, Number 0032:

It is narrated on the authority of Jabir that the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded that I should fight against people till they declare that there is no god but Allah, and when they profess it that there is no god but Allah, their blood and riches are guaranteed protection on my behalf except where it is justified by law, and their affairs rest with Allah, and then he (the Holy Prophet) recited (this verse of the Holy Qur'an):" Thou art not over them a warden" (lxxxviii, 22).

1400 years ago some influential people were afraid to say "no" to a pedophile who claimed God told him he was the "last prophet" and you must do as I say or else; so now you have "islam". Similar to what would happen if Charlie Manson had a big following and folks left him to it. . . .

yes, all who rejected Mohammad and were said to be creating "mischief" in the land.

    http://www.theholybook.org/content/view/6333/2/

(And when it is said to them: "Do not make mischief on the earth,''), means, "Do not commit acts of disobedience on the earth. Their mischief is disobeying Allah, because whoever disobeys Allah on the earth, or commands that Allah be disobeyed, he has committed mischief on the earth. Peace on both the earth and in the heavens is ensured (and earned) through obedience (to Allah).'' Ar-Rabi` bin Anas and Qatadah said similarly.

As a mischievous child at one time, I am grateful that I was not crucified nor had my hands or feet removed. As that is in fact the Islamic penalty for "the making of mischief in the land".

    harsh to say the least.

    Goes,

Was going through some older material, and wanted to ask about something about the following info:

    Obligatory Daily Namaz

It is obligatory to perform the following five prayers during day and night:

    • Dawn prayers (Fajr) - 2 Rak'ats.
    • Midday (Zuhr) and Afternoon prayers ('Asr) - each one consisting of 4 Rak'ats.
    • Dusk prayers (Maghrib) - 3 Rak'ats and Night prayers ('Isha) - 4 Rak'ats.

    http://www.al-islam.org/laws/rulesofnamaaz1.html#736

And this site details prayer posture:

    http://www.al-islam.edu.pk/prayer/sec10.htm

This second site mentions that the posture "qiyam" is when al-fatiha is recited and that this posture happens during each farz rak'at. If obligatory prayers are performed 5 times a day, and the total rak'ats from the first site above (also mentioned in the second site, but easier on the eyes in the first, my opinion) equals 17, and qiyam is performed in each rak'at...this means al-fatiha, specifically ayat 7, is recited 17 times a day?

    Correct?

Actually I did not know exactly how their prayers were done, I have seen them a million times doing it, but was never interested on the details.

As for your question from the second link you gave me it looks that they say it 22 times, as you missed this part which is done I think once in each prayer.

    Dua-Fatiha
Now both hands are raised for Duah or Fatiha at the termination of which the prayer comes to a close.
Note: The hands of the worshipper are not higher than his chest and not more than 6 inches away from the chest. Also the eyes must be pinned on to the palms of the hands. Both hands must be together as illustrated.
To perform Namaaz in the sitting position here are some of the differences from that of the standing posture.

Me neither, just reading around and ran into this article and go to looking at a couple of links that I had. Cursing jews and chrisitans as part of prayer is pretty incredible, but 17 or 22 or whatever times a day is just beyond stupid.

As for your question from the second link you gave me it looks that they say it 22 times, as you missed this part which is done I think once in each prayer.

Yeah, that 2nd site was hard on my ocular mobility...I just missed it.

Although the religion may not be "tolerant" (much as Christianity after Rome got hold of it and until Darwin), I will not paint "all Muslims" with that brush. They are as much individuals, capable of thought, as any other individual.

My only wish for those individuals, from my experience, is that some, like some Americans, need Aristotelian training in deductive/inductive reasoning and logic.

Thank you for stopping by and posting. I am not painting all Muslims with the same brush, and if they were all to be painted with the same brush, we would be in a great trouble. Unfortunately this is what their religion ask them to do, but luckily for the rest of the world most of them don';t follow their religion to the fullest extreme.

For that reason I am appalled at all the Islamapologists on NV. Many say they hate religion, and they express hatred of Christians and Jews....but they support Islam. I will never understand why.

Yes, but their religion in many Muslim countries promotes violence and intolerance to women and gays and they rejoice and celebrate honor killings and hangings. All of that is well known, documented and publicized. Muslims as a whole are mostly silent about radical jihadists as though it's just part of spreading Islam. The list of attrocities goes on and on. And people actually express support for this?

No, people don't express support for this. People forget about this, and only remember the victimized Muslims when they tend to whine so loud, and make themselves heard. On the other hand, all what you mentioned does not get enough media's attention.
